A design that interprets the journey

Multistrada V4 Rally evolves, every line meeting a need, every detail designed for travel. Each element is built to optimise ergonomics and protection, while the brushed steel tank highlights the bike’s character, adding a distinctive touch.
Unmistakable Multistrada design

The design of Multistrada V4 Rally flaunts the distinctive traits that make the Multistrada family so iconic: front-loaded mass, a slim and lightweight tail, and a compact front end. Elements that take the language of Ducati Superbikes and add a crossover-type twist. The front view showcases the double headlight, emphasised by new painted surfaces that add to the stage presence. A new silencer, a sharper profile, and a sound that only adds to the Ducati sports DNA round out the design.

Element design serves a purpose

On the Multistrada V4 Rally, form follows function. The need for greater range led to a redesign of the bike’s front end, with more powerful shoulders that, no higher than before, integrate perfectly with the narrow, ergonomic central section. From side on, the tank becomes a key design feature. Produced in brushed aluminium, it is enhanced with updated “Rally” lettering on the fin and protected by a lateral plate that, as well as protecting surfaces against any knee rubbing, takes on an aesthetic role. The combination of different surfaces and materials gives the front-end a technical, muscular look, highlighting the bike’s distinctive character. Given the Multistrada V4 Rally’s propensity for adventurous travel, the lower skid plate is larger with respect to the Multistrada V4, better protecting the engine from any impacts.

Heightened passenger comfort

The ideal choice for long-range two-up travel, the Multistrada V4 Rally guarantees optimum comfort for the passenger, with side and top case fittings that maximise leg and torso space, to significantly increase the freedom of movement and comfort of the person sitting behind. In addition, a new die-cast support makes the top case more stable and secure, better supporting the passenger. Customisation is also possible, with a choice of different seat heights for rider and passenger as well as a lower suspension kit to suit any two-up configuration. To improve thermal comfort aboard the Multistrada V4 Rally, ducts in the leg area are adjustable and can use the heat released by the engine during the coldest months. The two heat shields, positioned respectively on the rear subframe and on the swingarm, reduce the heat perceived by both rider and passenger. Lastly, two new deflectors located close to where hot air exits the radiator, adjacent to the tank’s aluminium fin, help to keep heat away from the legs, reducing the perceived temperature.

GP-derived aerodynamics

The Multistrada V4 Rally harnesses all the aerodynamics knowledge and experience Ducati has gained in MotoGP to improve comfort, quality and riding pleasure. The front-end features aerodynamic deflectors to increase protection, particularly for the passenger, dragging the aerodynamic air flow further back with respect to the Multistrada V4 and V4 S and extending the area of calm air behind the fairing.

Brand-new globetrotter livery

The Multistrada V4 Rally is available in 8 colors through the Ducati Factory Made program, which allows for customization directly at the factory. The Jade Green/Brushed Aluminum color scheme evokes the hues traditionally associated with the world of adventure: the matte green is echoed in the exposed aluminum of the fuel tank and the rims with gold accents, which decisively convey the Multistrada V4 Rally’s true globetrotter spirit. The Multistrada V4 Rally is also available in the Ducati Corse livery, the Ducati Performance livery, matte colors, historic Ducati colors, and the Ad Personam offerings from Automobili Lamborghini.

Aesthetics for adventure

Sporty in spirit, elegant in shape. The Multistrada V4 Rally flaunts a bolder look without losing any of the balance and harmony that is Multistrada style. A balanced design for an authentic globetrotting vibe.

V4 Granturismo: designed to go far

The 1158 cc V4 Granturismo engine combines 170 horsepower with extraordinary control. It offers a smooth, progressive response at any speed, for an exciting yet comfortable riding experience.
V4 Granturismo engine: optimised consumption and riding pleasure

The Multistrada V4 Rally is equipped with the 1158 cc V4 Granturismo engine that can deliver 170 hp (125 kW) at 10,750 rpm and 125 Nm (12.7 kgm) at 8750 rpm. A particularly linear torque curve ensures a smooth and progressive response. Weighing just 66.7 kg, this engine sets a category benchmark for its perfect balance of power and lightness. The V4 Granturismo engine is Euro 5+ approved without compromising on power, all thanks to the extended rear bank deactivation system.

Extended rear bank deactivation system for reduced consumption

To reduce consumption and emissions, the Multistrada V4 Rally is equipped with an extended electronic rear bank deactivation strategy, a world first for a production engine.

The two rear cylinders do not only switch off when the bike is stationary with engine on, but also at low speed in specific conditions.

As the speed increases or when the rider wants to fully exploit the engine power, the cylinders are reactivated to ensure the engine’s character and performance. The system operates in all Riding Modes, with different calibration for each gear.

MotoGP technology: counter-rotating crankshaft

The V4 Granturismo engine adopts sophisticated technical solutions like the MotoGP-derived counter-rotating crankshaft, which opposes the wheel’s gyroscopic inertia. Added to this are dedicated torque curves for each gear, to combine smooth delivery at low rpm with robust mid-range torque and top-end power.

New DQS 2.0 for even smoother shifting

The gearbox on the Multistrada V4 Rally is electronically assisted by the new Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) 2.0, which adopts a strategy based solely on the gear drum’s positioning sensor. This solution allows for the use of a connecting rod without microswitch and guarantees the rider more direct feeling, with reduced travel and even faster, more precise shifting.

Quality and reliability: valve clearance check at 60,000 km

The V4 Granturismo version mounted on the Ducati Multistrada V4 Rally maintains benchmark service intervals, with an oil change scheduled every 15,000 km and the valve clearance check, with adjustment where necessary, every 60,000 km.

Equipped for epic journeys

A bike equipped with everything a rider needs to conquer unexplored lands in the utmost comfort. Multistrada V4 Rally: the perfect combination of technology and riding pleasure.
New Automatic Lowering Device

To ensure the rider can touch the ground easily and safely during low-speed manoeuvres, particularly with a passenger on board, the Multistrada V4 Rally is complete with the Automatic Lowering Device.

The system electronically resets the shock preload faster and more markedly with respect to the previous Minimum Preload function.

The bike automatically lowers at speeds below 10 km/h and returns to its original riding setting on reaching 50 km/h. This functionality is automatic and can be deactivated by the rider.

New automatic suspension strategies

The Multistrada V4 Rally is equipped with Marzocchi semi-active suspension controlled by the Ducati Skyhook Suspension (DSS) Evolution system that boasts increased travel with respect to the Multistrada V4. The DSS allows for adjustment of the fork and rear shock’s preload, compression and rebound damping and adds the option to customise the suspension’s hydraulic damping even when on the move. Two new electronic features better adapt the bike to the road conditions and rider’s riding style. The Road Detection strategy is activated when Offroad Suspension Mode is selected in AUTO mode and identifies whether the bike is travelling on a low difficulty or more demanding dirt road, calibrating the hydraulic component to best suit the terrain. The Riding Style Detection strategy, active in all Suspension Modes in AUTO mode, analyses riding style and determines the most suitable calibration in that precise moment.

Bump Detection and Easy Lift function

The Ducati Skyhook Suspension Evolution system can identify the suspension’s response to bumps or potholes thanks to a system mounted on the front fork that analyses suspension behaviour.

The Bump Detection function heightens the rider’s comfort, preparing the right shock compression and rebound to best absorb any bumps in the road.

The Easy Lift function makes it easier to lift the bike off the central stand, softening the suspension hydraulics for the first three minutes after ignition.

Better rideability at full load

The Multistrada V4 Rally adopts an aluminium monocoque frame, lightweight and compact, with chassis geometry that strikes a balance between precision and fluidity when entering corners. To increase trajectory precision during sports riding or at full load, the aluminium double-sided swingarm is now mounted on a higher pivot to boost the suspension’s anti-squat effect, improving stability at full load.

Versatility on any terrain

New electronic solutions and strategies adopted on the Multistrada V4 Rally allow suspension behaviour to adapt in real time to different road conditions, from urban routes to off-road riding on low grip terrain. No matter the rider’s riding style, the system always ensures the most efficient, balanced response, for comfort, control and stability in every situation.

Lighter spoked wheels with TPMS sensor as standard and Pirelli SCORPION™ Trail II tyres

The Multistrada V4 Rally mounts lighter tubeless spoked wheels measuring 3.0 x 19’’ at the front and 4.5 x 17’’ at the rear, which contribute to improving the bike’s dynamic qualities. It is also equipped as standard with the TPMS sensor that displays tyre pressure on the dashboard, heightening onboard safety. The Multistrada V4 Rally mounts Pirelli SCORPION™ Trail II tyres - 120/70-19’’ at the front and 170/60-17” at the rear – and is also approved for use with Pirelli SCORPION™ Rally and SCORPION™ Rally STR tyres, also in sizes 120/70-19’’ and 170/60-17.

Braking system with Brembo Stylema monobloc callipers

The Multistrada V4 Rally braking system comprises Brembo Stylema monobloc radial callipers, radial master cylinders with adjustable levers and two 330 mm front discs. The rear flaunts a more powerful new system, with a single disc - 280 mm in diameter and 6 mm thick - and a Brembo floating calliper.

Standard accessories for greater comfort

Comfort is paramount aboard the Multistrada V4 Rally, with solutions that ensure an enjoyable, relaxing ride for rider and passenger like. The windscreen is 40 mm higher and 20 mm wider to ensure greater protection, while the case fittings on the tail are positioned to offer the passenger greater space and freedom of movement, and to ensure that the top case is more stable and supportive thanks to the die-cast support. Rider and passenger can also choose between different seat heights.

The redesigned standard central stand facilitates lifting of the bike, while heated handgrips, also standard, can be adjusted according to five levels.

Intelligent systems for every adventure

The electronics on board the Multistrada V4 Rally are designed to offer versatility and control in every situation. The intelligent systems adapt to the rider and their style, transforming every trip into a tailor-made experience and heightening the riding pleasure.
New AUTO suspension mode with detection of riding style and road surface

The suspension incorporates a system that can identify the type of off-road terrain or the riding style a rider displays in any moment, calibrating the suspension to ensure the best possible control. The first strategy is activated when Offroad Suspension Mode is selected in AUTO mode and identifies whether the bike is travelling on a low difficulty or more demanding dirt road. The second strategy is activated in all Suspension Modes in AUTO mode and analyses the rider’s riding style.

Assisted shifting with Ducati Quick Shift 2.0

The gearbox on the Multistrada V4 Rally is electronically assisted by the new DQS 2.0, which adopts a strategy based solely on the gear drum’s positioning sensor. This solution allows for the use of a connecting rod without microswitch and guarantees the rider more direct feeling, with reduced travel.

New travel-oriented Ducati Vehicle Observer (DVO) and updated braking strategies

The dedicated traction and wheelie control systems evolve thanks to the algorithm developed by Ducati Corse, known as Ducati Vehicle Observer (DVO). Inherited from the Panigale V4, the DVO allows for an instant estimate of physical, kinematic and dynamic parameters that cannot be directly measured in practice, for the calibration of electronic control intervention.

The Multistrada V4 Rally offers the utmost active safety thanks to the cornering function of its Bosch 10.3ME ABS applied to the Brembo system, which receives bike lean data from the inertial platform in real time and integrates this with the Riding Mode to automatically adapt its intervention to the riding conditions. Stability and safety are improved with the Electronic Combined Braking System that, with ABS level 3 - the default setting in Urban, Wet and Touring Riding Mode - modulates the action at front and rear. The system now acts with both front-to-rear and rear-to-front logic, depending on the rider’s action and the bike’s predisposition. On activating the front brake control, front-to-rear logic also activates the rear brake where needed, to improve the system’s performance and increase bike stability. As well as helping to slow the bike, rear-to-front logic is dynamically efficient, for suspension compression when cornering that, by lowering the centre of gravity, allows the Multistrada V4 Rally to hold an even tighter line.

Radar technology as standard with Adaptive Cruise Control and Blind Spot Detection

Multistrada V4 was the world’s first production bike to adopt front and rear radar technology, an advanced riding aid that heightens riding comfort and safety by reconstructing the reality around the bike.

Adaptive Cruise Control automatically adjusts the distance (according to one of four levels) from other vehicles when traveling at speeds between 30 and 160 km/h using controlled braking and acceleration. The automotive-derived system has been developed based on the dynamics and ergonomic of a two-wheel vehicle. The system’s ability to decelerate and accelerate is limited to ensure that the rider can maintain constant control of the bike in every situation, and the system can be deactivated or adjusted via dedicated buttons on the left block.

With the Blind Spot Detection system, the rear radar, positioned below the taillight, can detect vehicles that enter the blind spot, an area not visible to the rider or the rear-view mirror. The system alerts the rider with LED lights on the rear-view mirrors and provides a warning as to any vehicles approaching at high speed.

Front Collision Warning can identify any potential collisions before they occur. Thanks to the radar located at the front of the vehicle, the system displays a high-visibility warning on the dashboard, alerting the rider in time and allowing them to make riding corrections where necessary.

Electronic controls for greater safety

The Multistrada V4 Rally electronics package integrates latest-generation systems to increase safety and riding comfort.

Deriving from Ducati Corse experience, Engine Brake Control (EBC) allows the rider to select the engine brake intensity at the rear wheel when closing the throttle. The system offers three levels of intervention, which can be selected within each Riding Mode.

Brake Light EVO improves visibility. When deceleration exceeds a certain limit, the rear stop light starts to flash at high frequency. The system now also activates the hazard light, which turns off once the rider begins to accelerate again.

An integral part of the Ducati Safety Pack, Ducati Traction Control manages any loss of rear wheel grip, integrating wheel speed data from the sensors and the inertial platform, while also considering lean angle. DTC can control rear wheel slide, increasing the bike’s performance and active safety. The system offers eight levels of intervention depending on the conditions and a rider’s ability and riding style.

Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) heightens rider safety, analysing the bike setting to detect any wheelieing and manage engine delivery accordingly. DWC is integrated into the Riding Modes and can be adjusted according to 8 levels. The system remains precise on the Multistrada V4 Rally even when the overall bike mass varies, with passenger or luggage, thanks to the DVO.

Three available Power Modes and five Riding Modes

The Multistrada V4 Rally offers three Power Modes and five Riding Modes, to adapt engine delivery and riding assistance systems to suit the situation and rider preferences.

Sport Riding Mode. The most high-performance on asphalt. In this Riding Mode, the Multistrada V4 Rally unleashes its full 170 hp with a direct, spirited response, supported by a Skyhook suspension sports setting. The ideal choice for expert riders who want to really enjoy the performance of the Multistrada V4 Rally.

Touring Riding Mode. Maximum power remains at 170 hp but delivery is smoother and more progressive. Higher DTC and DWC intervention levels make for greater controllability of the vehicle, while ABS is set to level 3, the safest and most prudential. The suspension setting is designed for long-distance travel and offers maximum comfort for the rider and passenger.

Wet Riding Mode. Designed for riding on low grip surfaces, or in the wet. This mode limits maximum power to 115 hp with a particularly gentle throttle response (Low Power Mode). The predefined level of the electronic controls is set to offer maximum safety, ensuring the best possible traction and stability even when the grip conditions are less than ideal.

Urban Riding Mode. Power output is reduced to 115 hp with a particularly gentle and progressive response, while suspension calibration adapts to any urban obstacles such as bumps, potholes or manholes, effectively managing the continual changes in surface. ABS is set to level 3.

Enduro Riding Mode. Showcases the off-road qualities of the Multistrada V4 Rally. Power is limited to 114 hp with a Delicate Engine Mode, characterised by a more dynamic, direct response than that associated with Urban Mode. The Enduro Riding Mode also sets up DSS Evolution specifically for off-road riding, indicated the selected load mode. DTC and DWC systems are set at a lower level, and ABS is set to level 1, suitable for off-road use on low-grip surfaces.

6.5” dashboard and Hands-Free ignition

The Multistrada V4 Rally is equipped with a 6.5” TFT dashboard with mineral glass to ensure excellent readability in all conditions. Complete and easily legible graphics include a circular rev counter with digital needle, gear indicator, fuel level, external temperature, engine temperature, electronic control levels, Riding Mode, suspension setting and GPS map. The latter is activated via the Sygic GPS app, operating via a phone’s mirroring function. Management of the functions is simple and intuitive thanks to the joystick located on the left block, while dedicated keys allow for immediate adjustment of the Riding Mode and suspension calibration. Standard equipment is rounded out with the tyre pressure monitoring system, for continuous, safe control during every trip.

The Multistrada V4 Rally exploits the Hands-Free ignition system, allowing the user to keep the key in their pocket and switch on the bike with the dedicated button. The fuel tank is opened with the mechanical “flip” key integrated into the electronic key, or the user can select the optional keyless fuel cap.
